Blessed Easter Pink Tulips

Another tulip card for you today - no apologies, I love this stamp! This card was inspired by the flecked pink tulips I received from my James juniors for Mother's Day last week. This card features this stamp used in another different way, this time to create an outlined background panel:

In splitting the tulips away from the sentiment on the original stamp, this makes it really easy to use the tulips for non-Easter cards, as I've done here. I used a Whisper White base, then stamped the tulips in Rose Red on a strip of Pink Pirouette cardstock. I then stamped the tulips again, this time in Black Stazon on watercolour paper and coloured with inks and my Aquapainter and cut out using my oval framelits and mounted on a second oval in Rose Red.

That's all for today; tomorrow's card may well have to be a 'get well soon' card as this afternoon my young son appears to have succumbed to the chicken pox - his THIRD dose in just 6 years!!! I didn't think this was even possible, but his itchy spots tell me otherwise. On the upside, at least it's the Easter holidays, so he should be over it by the time the new term starts :-)

Back tomorrow with another card; until then, happy stampin'!

Wow!  Three times?!  My dad had them twice as a child then got shingles several times as an adult!  Ironically, neither my sister nor I have ever had chicken pox without having ever been vaccinated until we were adults ourselves!  Maybe my dad's susceptibility gave us immunity because my oatents exposed us several times as kids so we wouldn't get them hen we were older!   Hope he's better soon!  Beautiful card, too!  Smile

Thanks Candy - glad you liked the card and thanks for the get well wishes for Ben! He doesn't have any more spots today and although they're itching, this time isn't anywhere near as bad as the last time. Sounds like your dad has had his fair share too; hopefully Ben's future offspring will benefit from immunity as well!

Hello Joanne -  I am a new subscriber to your blog (and a U.S. SU! demonstrator as well)!  Beautiful card today, love the coloring/painting on the tulips.  So sorry to hear about your son, wondering if you've had him checked for shingles?  If you haven't, you may want to take him in.  Both my daughter and I have  had them and both of us had chicken pox as children.  Good luck, please let us know how he is doing.

Hi Carol - welcome to my blog, so glad you're following and I hope you find lots of inspiration here! Glad you like the tulips - I'm getting a little addicted to watercolouring tulips in different colours, there are so many great colour combinations. Thanks for your kind wishes for Ben; I haven't had him checked for shingles, it didn't occur to me given his age - I didn't realise you could get it when you were so young. Apart from the itching, he has been in good spirits today; no new spots and it doesn't seem as bad as the last time. The joys of childhood illnesses!
