Awash In Beauty Pretty In Pink JUGS 675

by Joanne James15. April 2023 05:00

Today I'm sharing my third card for my Guest Designer spot over at Just Us Girls. This week it's photo/moodboard week:

So much to love about this mood board! I was inspired by all of the pretty pinks and the florals in the middle picture on the top row, and the sentiment below it, for my guest designer card this week - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

I knew that I wanted to focus on the pinks for my card this week, in particular that pretty piece of designer paper that I used for my base panel from the Awash in Beauty paper pack. I have been holding on to this for just the right opportunity and I decided this card was it! used the sketch over at Paper Craft Crew for my layout; I like the way the white horizontal strips break up the background pattern but still allow it to shine. For my focal point, I went with a sentiment from my favourite 'Simply Fabulous' stamp set in Merry Merlot - I will so miss this set when it retires! - and framed it with more pretty pink blooms that I fussy cut from the reverse side of the background paper. A sprinkle of sequins completes my card:

I really love how this card turned out - these papers are soo pretty! How does the mood board inspire you? Check out what the design team over at Just Us Girls have created this week and have a go and join us!

Awash In Beauty Bouquet FMS576

Today will be a two post day as I managed to squeak in a little extra crafting time over the weekend and managed to make not one but two cards using Amy's layout over at Freshly Made Sketches this week.

Here's the first one:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

I don't normally gravitate towards this kind of layout, but I was so inspired by Jennifer Timko's FMS Design Team card, that I decided I would try something similar. So I grabbed my paper snips and fussy cut an entire bouquet of flowers from the oh-so-pretty Awash in Beauty designer series paper pack and used this as the centrepiece for my card, with the individual flowers representing those sketch circles. I backed this with a piece of pink paper from the same pack and a simple white lattice diecut from the Organic Beauty Dies, adding a few white opaque adhesive backed gems to decorate:

I finished with a simple sentiment from the 'Sending Smiles' stamp set - I thought this would make a nice card for someone who needed a little 'lift'.

This card felt a little brave for me as I normally interpret the sketch more literally, but I really like the end result!

I'll be back shortly with my second take on Amy's sketch - a completely different take so stay tuned! Until then, happy stampin'!

Awash In Beauty Garden Blooms Pair PP598

Today it's Sunday and time for this week's new challenge over at The Paper Players! It's Laurie's turn to host this week and she has a theme challenge for us to work with:

We are a green-fingered bunch in the James household, however at this time of year the only flowers are those that have a fruit or vegetable attached - strawberries, climbing beans, courgettes and tomatoes to name a few. I don't have any vegetable stamps though, but never fear - this week's challenge can include everything from greenery, houseplants flowers and everything in between! I love flowers and with so many creative options, I was spoiled for choice. I was a little short on time though, so I decided to choose a beautiful new designer paper and let it do the heavy lifting - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

The beautiful Awash In Beauty designer paper makes a card all by itself - beautiful watercoloured blooms, with no effort! I added a diecut sentiment and a few iridescent rhinestones, and my card is complete!

I liked this card so much I used another one with the other half of the paper and changed up the sentiment for one from the 'Sending Smiles' bundle:

Check out the subtle sparkle from the rhinestones - so pretty!

I ended up liking this one the best! What about you - do you have a favourite?
