Varied Vases Spring Tulips Birthday Card

Today I'm sharing a card inspired by the photo over at Paper Craft Crew and the sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch:

Inspirational Photo Challenge with Red floral bouquet and body silhouette of lady in background in a light floral dress.

When I saw that inspiration photo of bright red spring blooms, I thought it was time to reach for an old favourite from the annual catalogue that I haven't used for a while - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

I used my Varied Vases stamp set and co-ordinating Vases Builder Punch to stamp and punch out a pretty vase of bright red Poppy Parade tulips and fussy cut a shelf to sit them on. I added a scallop edge detail using the decorative ribbon border punch and balanced this with a couple of Granny Apple Green strips as per the sketch. I set the whole thing against a calming soft Sea Foam card base.

Since your sweet visit, I've been curious what you've been up to... I'm so happy you've played cards with CTS this week, Joanne! Why didn't I see that it was the perfect place to hang a shelf? I'm so ready for Spring - love that you chose tulips for this sweet little vase!

Thanks for popping by Michele - I love a good sketch and couldn't resist the one at CTS this week! I'm ready for Spring too - warmer, brighter days and spring blooms are always welcome, although I think they might only be on paper for a few weeks more yet!

I was within a whisker of getting this set Joanne, but something else must have got me going instead. I love the variety of flowers and vases, SO many options! It was a great idea to use it with this sketch and like Michele, I love that you popped it on a little scalloped shelf
