Sparkly New Year Stars Clean and Simple

by Joanne James10. January 2024 20:30

Today I'm sharing a card that I made a few days ago just for fun! A number of challenges combined to inspire this clean and simple New Year card:

The sketch over at AAA Cards, combined with the colours at TGIF Challenges and the similar palette and clean and graphic designs at Inkspirational caused me to root through my scrap box for a gold foil made me think of stars and specifically the starry swirl in the retired Stitched Stars die set:

I cut it out of gold foil, then infilled the gaps with some sparkly stars in gold, silver and black metallic glimmer paper and added a few more around the outside, before finishing with a simple new year sentiment from another retired set 'Gnome For Christmas':

The glimmer paper makes this simple card so sparkly - perfect for the challenge over at SUO Challenges too where they are currently all about the glitter!

Enjoy your evening and I'll be back soon with another project. Until then, happy stampin'!

What a fantastic card! It's so bright and hopeful and glittery! I'd forgotten all about that die, which I've kept in my forever stash after it retired. Thanks for reminding me of the hidden treasures I've got. Smile

I LOVE this card.  The mixed metals scream celebration to me.  The stitched stars dies are one of my favorite die sets.  I especially love the starry swirl and how you filled in some of the gold foil stars with glimmer paper.  Gorgeous!
