by Joanne James28. May 2022 19:49Today I've a quick post to share a card that I made using Judy's angled sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches that was inspired by the colour palette over at Color Throwdown this week:
I remembered I had some old designer paper (Flashback Designer Series Paper - hence in part today's post title|!) that featured these colours and I thought this would be a great opportunity to use some up. This is what I came up with:
Here's the low-down on today's card:
The circle pattern on the paper led me to choose a punched ladybird for my focal point as it echoed the round shape and I used one of my Basic Borders Dies for the angled edge and added a banner behind my ladybird cut with the Stylish Shapes Dies with a similar diecut edge pattern:
The sentiment is from the retired 'Little Ladybug' stamp set - I paired it with another on the inside, along with a fun ladybug stamped border to complete my card:
I think this makes a fun inspirational/motivational card for a child; I'm actually going to send mine to my niece who is soon to graduate university and has just been successful in gaining her first job - this sentiment seemed the perfect way to celebrate this achievement and is also spot on for the current theme over at SUO Challenges where they are making cards for kids this week.
Here is the visual summary of the key products used on today's project for you to pin for easy reference:

Enjoy your evening; we went to the cinema this afternoon to watch the new Tom Cruise 'Top Gun - Maverick' movie. This is the first time we have been to the cinema since pre-Covid and it was so worth it - this is most definitely a film to be watched on the big screen! Now I'm typing this with the dulcit tones of the Football Premiership Champions League final in the background - so rock and roll! I'll be back tomorrow with another project for our new challenge over at The Paper Players. Until then, happy stampin'!

by Joanne James28. February 2021 21:32Today I'm here with an extra card that I made yesterday just for fun for a few challenges:
The challenge over at CASology closes tomorrow but I had been musing over an idea that I wanted to try for a few days, so paired it with the Color Throwdown colours which had a lovely rust colour included, perfect for a fox, and made the following card:
I used a whole host of retired product on this one, most notably my Foxy Friends stamp set and Fox Builder Punch, to create a Foxy face in lieu of the 'o' in my 'FOXY' word created using the Playful Alphabet Dies and paired it with the word 'Lady' from part of a sentiment in the retired 'Little LadyBug' stamp set to create my custom wording. I used the Color Throwdown colours in a quartet of stripes for my diecut letters and carried them across my card base to unify my layers. I added an additional stamped fox to the inside of my card:
Lastly, no foxy lady is complete without a sassy magenta flower in her fur, right?! So I added a punched flower for an added touch of femininity:
I love this clean and simple card - it turned out just as I imagined. The big question is, who would you send a card like this to? I'd be really interested in your thoughts!
I'm also linking today's card up over at Addicted to CAS where the code word for the next fortnight is 'animal'.

by Joanne James10. February 2020 16:53I have a super quick post today as I have had a Valentine's home decor class today and have a school music recital to attend this evening, so I need to quickly squeeze in a couple of cards I made over the weekend using the gorgeous 'Little Ladybug' stamp set that is a free gift for anyone hosting a Stampin' Up! party with qualifying party sales. The first is for the current challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches:
Some simple stamping and Blends colouring with a sponged background and split sentiment, highlighting the word FLY:
The second is for the current challenge over at Less Is More where the challenge is 'tiny and few':
This seemed perfect for that itty-bitty row of ladybirds with a fun sentiment:

Enjoy your evening and I'll be back (earlier!) tomorrow with another project. Until then, happy stampin'!

by Joanne James4. February 2020 10:00I'm here today with a quick post to let you know about a new co-ordination product release that launches today and runs until the 31st March whilst stocks last. There is a collection of exclusive products that co-ordinate with Sale-A-Bration and the January-June mini catalogue items. Check them out:
One other thing to note is that Stampin' Up! has confirmed that the Nature's Thoughts Dies that co-ordinate with the Positive Thoughts stamp set and the Special Day Dies that co-ordinate with the Special Someone stamp set will both be carrying over into the new annual catalogue so will be available again to purchase from 4th June.
There is no limit on how many items you can order, however they are only available for a limited time and whilst supplies last. Last year's co-ordination products sold out really quickly with some popular dies selling out within days, so don't leave it too long to get your hands on yours!
My personal favourites are the Ladybugs Dies and the Happy Birrthday Dies, along with the Pleased as Punch paper - I can't resist a nice paper, especially one where you can punch out all the patterns!
You can find links to these items and the products they co-ordinate with in the online store are below - any questions, do get in touch. Happy shopping!
