Dandelion Wishes Easy Layered Card PP429

by Joanne James17. February 2019 09:00

Today it's Sunday and time for this week's new challenge over at The Paper Players! It's the turn of the fabulous LeAnne to host this week and she has a clean and simple challenge for you to work with:

Remember: this is clean and simple week. What do we mean by 'clean and simple' ? Create a card that has:

  • Minimal layers and embellishments
  • Plenty of open space, also known as 'white space'
  • Is simple and uncluttered

I chose one of my favourite colours - Melon Mambo - to work with this week. I combined with black and white for a simple monochromatic design:

Today's card is super simple: all of the stamping is in black (except for the pop of pink on the co-ordinating envelope), with some background detail on my card base and a narrow scalloped border to edge my central panel. A layered banner to showcase my sentiment, along with a twine bow and glitter dot accents complete my card. By keeping this card monochrome, it is really easy to recreate and would work in lots of other colours too.

Here is the visual summary of the key products used on today's project for you to pin for easy reference:

Joanne, I love Melon Mambo, too!  This is so beautiful!  I have a special place in  my heart for Dandelions.  We used to pick them for my Mom and she would put them in a pretty vase.  I also loved when they turned into  puff balls and you could blow them everywhere.   Wonderful memories!  Your card made me smile!  Have a lovely weekend, My Friend!  XX

Joanne, I love the dandelions.  I'm with Claire, they do bring back memories for me, too.  I love the bright pink with the black and white - such a striking combo.
