Beautiful Bouquet One Sheet Wonder

by Joanne James11. August 2017 20:00

Friday already - where did the week go?! I've been having fun with my not-so-little ones - and today my youngest James Junior turned 10 years old so now I have two children in double digits - I really don't know where the time goes! We have had a fun day of games, football, dinner out and a trip to the cinema so all in all a lovely end to the week. Following a few absent days, I thought it was time for a quick post to share more of my makes with the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. I actually used the set to create a one sheet wonder, that I turned into eight cards that I then duplicated for my thank you cards to go out with my customer orders this month. Here's one of the cards in the set:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

Bright Colour Combo - I chose a bright colour combination of hot pink, orange and red with a contrasting touch of blue for my set of cards - the Marina Mist blue is definitely the wild card here, however I think it breaks up the other colours in a good way. Here's the colour combination if you'd like to save it for future use:

Step It Up - I could have simply added my one sheet wonder panels to my card bases, along with a sentiment stamped on a basic square or punched circle, to complete my cards in record time. I decided to step them up slightly with the aid of my Stitched Shape Framelits, Layered Squares and Circles Framelits and some additional stamped flowers that I then diecut with the co-ordinating Bouquet Bunch Framelits. Completion took a little more time for sure, however I think it was worth it - sometimes it's the details that count and really make the difference.

The Wonder Of One Sheet - A one sheet wonder is a fun way to create your own patterned paper and can be a quick solution if you want to create a bunch of cards. I made up my own cut template for this one, with a set of easy cuts to make the most out of my single sheet of A4 cardstock. Here's a shot showing all the cards I made just to give you a flavour off the set:

I used a variety of base and mat colours - the tiny flowers make Beautiful Bouquet a great set to use for a one sheet wonder. Why not give it a try with some of your favourite colour combinations?

Here is the visual summary of the key products used on today's project for you to pin for easy reference:

I'll be back on Sunday with another project. Until then, happy stampin'!

Crazy About You One Sheet Wonder Cards

by Joanne James17. November 2015 21:55

I am having a busy week with another two classes today, so today's post is light on words but with lots of pictures to make up for it. I wanted to share the cards we made at my Stamp-A-Stack class last week. My ladies decided they wanted a change from Christmas cards, so instead we did a One Sheet Wonder adapted from a template by LeeAnn Greff. I wanted to go totally bright so we used Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Wild Wasabi and Pool Party and flowers from the 'Crazy About You' stamp set along with a little one from 'Flower Patch' and a mix of sentiments from other sets. We made 10 cards in total - here they are:

I didn't add sentiments on many of them - sometimes it's nice to be able to add a sentiment as you use the card:

There you go - 10 cards for any occasion. We had so much fun at this class we are going to do it all again next month, only this time using the Vintage Leaves stamp set to make a set of masculine cards. This class will be on Friday 11th December and the cost for the class is £15 or free with a £45 order. There are still a couple of places available, so if you would like to join us do get in touch to reserve your place.

Back tomorrow with another project; until then, happy stampin'!

Secret Garden One Sheet Wonder - Part Two

by Joanne James20. June 2013 22:00

Today I'm sharing another of the cards from last week's Secret Garden One Sheet Wonder class with you. This card also uses single stamped images of three of the flowers in the set which are then cut out using the co-ordinating framelits and layered onto a smaller piece of patterned cardstock as a background:

This card has more detailed to it with lots of layering and looks very crisp on a white background. We had a lot of fun creating our cards using the One Sheet Wonder and the nice thing is that even though we all followed the same basic layout, everyone's cards looked different.

I really enjoyed the One Sheet Wonder - look at how many cards you can make with just one sheet of patterned stamped paper:

Come back tomorrow to see another project. Until then, happy stampin'!

Secret Garden One Sheet Wonder - Part One

by Joanne James19. June 2013 21:00

Today I'm going to share a couple of the cards that I made with the ladies in my card classes last week. This month we decided to make a One Sheet Wonder using the Secret Garden stamp set and co-ordinating framelits. For those of you reading this who've never tried it, a One Sheet Wonder is where you create your own sheet of patterned paper using a variety of stamps and colours, then cut this into sections and use these as the basis to decorate your cards. You can cut your patterned sheet into lots of different shapes and sizes and depending on the dimensions you choose, you can make between 2 and 10 cards. I used a template based on a layout by LeAnn Greff, although modified slightly to suit my purposes. Our template made 10 cards in total. Here are the 4 cards we made in class:

And here's a close up of one of the cards in our set:

This is quite a simple card and quick to pull together - by carefully choosing the colours and adding some luxurious ribbon it turns it from something ordinary into something classic.

Come back tomorrow to see the other cards in the set. Until then, happy stampin'!
