by Joanne James17. March 2015 12:47This is my second post for today - scroll down or click here for my earlier creative post featuring today's card. Blendabilites may now be discontinued, but today Stampin' Up! has announced a number of additional catalogue products that you can earn for free with each £45 spend until the end of March while supplies last. Here are the details of each of the products that will form part of the offer:
Don't forget if you're ordering online to include the hostess code for March - 4AHTZQVW - and to ensure that your contact settings on the page tab headed up 'My Demonstrator' are set to 'YES', so that I can keep you informed on the progress of your order and send you a little thank you in the post.
That's all from me today; back tomorrow with a new set of Wednesday Weekly Deals and another project. Until then, happy shopping!

by Joanne James27. August 2013 19:30A quick post from me today. Here is the last of my favourite Telford swaps to share: this one was by Maria (you can see her blog here):
I like it because it used a number of products and sets I don't have and showcases some beautiful clear embossing. I love the overall finished effect of this card and the unusual colour combination too.
Back tomorrow with another of my cards; until then, happy stampin'!

by Joanne James10. June 2013 21:53Better late than never today, but lots going on in the James household this week: the first of this week's monthly card classes this afternoon, followed by a school field trip tomorrow and an 8th birthday to prepare for at the end of the week. So on to today's card! I've had three Golden Wedding Anniversary cards to make this month and although none of the recipients are known to each other, I made three different cards for each. I'm sharing the first of these with you today. This is the most simple of the 3 finished designs:
I used brushed gold card for the base and die cut number 50, which I popped on dimensionals so that it would stand out a little; this card has a lovely matt shimmer to it, which is somewhat lost in the photograph. I then used gold embossing powder and heat embossed the 'Happy Anniversary' either side of this. I used the Delicate Designs embossing folder and large scallop edgelits die to create a layered edge, finished with a piece of white Organza ribbon. So nothing too fussy, but classic (and post-friendly).
Back tomorrow with another of my Golden Anniversary cards I think; until then, happy stampin'!

by Joanne James16. May 2013 13:36No blog post yesterday as I was holding my second card class of the week. Lots of laughs as always, with pictures and stories to follow, but today I thought I'd share with you a commission I had last week for a christening card. I needed to make an A5 card and decided a christening gown was the order of the day:
I decided to use the large scallop Edgelits die and one of the Delicate Designs embossing folders to create the layers on the dress and sprayed these with Vanilla Smooch Spritz to give the layers a lovely pearlised sheen, to add interest to an otherwise all-white card. Hopefully you can see the effect on this close-up, although white-on-white is incredibly difficult to photograph:
In reality it looked beautiful! Given the size of the card, and the fact that it was intended as a keepsake, I also made a box for it ad finished off with a handmade angel charm - here's a close up:
I even ended up getting out my calligraphy pen to write the dedication on the inside - haven't used that in a while! Whilst I was on something of a christening 'role', I made another couple of smaller cards - lots of photos today, so I'll save those for another post! Hope you like today's card. Back tomorrow with another project; until then, happy stampin'!
