Since it's the end of the cricket season and the James Junior is officially back at university, I have spent the whole day in my craft room - yippee! - so I'll have lots to share in the coming days. Today I'm sharing my third card of the week featuring Winnie The Pooh that I wanted to share a few days ago, but time to blog escaped me - this one uses the current layout over at Try A Sketch On Tuesday:

I was intrigued by those patterned borders and thought they would make a nice row of honey pots - take a look at what I came up with:

 Here's the low-down on today's card:

This card was actually quite simple to make, with the honey pots and the focal image all taken from the Silly Old Bear DSP. The card is larger than usual (A5) because I wanted to use this particular image and sentiment and didn't want my card to be overcrowded, but sometimes it's nice to have a bigger card if you are going to write a letter inside, which I sometimes do. I played around with this for a while as I couldn't get it to feel right; in the end it was the addition of a panel of Peaceful Pine embossed with the 100 Acre Woods embossing folder that gave the card that extra 'something' that it needed:

This is why I ultimately discounted it for last week's Paper Players challenge as not sufficiently clean and simple, but still love it and the card is definitely all the better for the embossed section for sure.

Today I'm sharing another of the cards I made at the weekend featuring Winnie The Pooh. This one uses the layout over at Hand Stamped Sentiments and is my 'furry friends' entry over at Inkspirational. The acorn inspiration over at Inspired By was also what gave me the solution for those accent circles in the sketch:

Today's card features one of the scenes from the Silly Old Bear designer series paper where Pooh Bear has got himself into a spot of bother, having consumed just a little too much honey - and requires a whole bunch of furry friends to free him from his dilemma! These vintage-style images are just lovely; I paired this one with a neutral check from the retired Timeless Plaid DSP pack which compliments the overall woodsy feel and added a couple of acorns as accents - I love the diecut detailing on these:

A simple sentiment completes my card.

Today it's Sunday and time for this week's new challenge over at The Paper Players! It's the turn of the fabulous Christy to host this week and she has a clean and simple challenge for us with a fun theme:

Bears! I knew immediately that I was going to feature Winnie The Pooh on my card today; take a look at what I came up with::

Here's the low-down on today's card:

My challenge today was in keeping my card truly clean and simple: minimal layers and embellishments, lots of clean 'white' space. In the end I decided that this image of Pooh writing a letter would pair nicely with that favourite of sentiment bundles, Words of Beauty, for a sweet 'because' card. I diecut the word 'because', layering Golden Glow and Early Espresso cardstocks to echo the colouring of the bear, and separated out the 'you've been on my mind' into one long stamped sentiment to run beneath the diecut. I added my Pooh bear, fussy cut from the Silly Old Bear designer series paper, above this using dimensionals:

A couple of Golden Glow In Color enamel dots complete my card.

This was actually the third card I made for this week's challenge, but I ended up discounting the other too as not CAS enough. That does mean though that I have 2 more cards to share with you this week, both featuring this silly old bear :-)

Enjoy your day; I am out on a social walk with some friends from the gym this morning, then this afternoon I will be attempting to coral the James Junior into some sort of shape to take him back to university tomorrow for the start of the new academic year. He is in a rather fragile state, following his final cricket match yesterday. Not only did they win the game, but they came top of their league and will now promote for the fourth year in a row. This led to much celebrating late into the night!  I'll be back tomorrow with another project. Until then, happy stampin'!

Cards for little ones - babies and young children. I don't have many of those in my family these days, but this week's challenge gave me the perfect opportunity to make another card with my SilIy Old Bear suite, so we're all good! It's CASE A DT Week over at Just Us Girls and having checked out the Design Team cards, I decided I would CASE Carol's card for my card today. First up - take a look at my card:

Like Carol's, my card is for a child and uses vintage papers, however mine features the beloved Winnie the Pooh and Piglet on a winter walk and features the Silly Old Bear Papers and the Sweet Words & Labels bundle. I switched my card to landscape, but used the same layout as Carol's card, with similar layering and sentiment position. I accented my aperture with some diecut acorns that are included in the set:

I think the sentiment on this card is one of my favourites in the set - what better than a message of unconditional love?

Today I've a super quick post to share a quick card I made using the sketch over at Sunday Stamps:

The layout was perfect to showcase one of the prints on the Silly Old Bear designer series paper - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

A simple banner behind and a sentiment cut with one of the label dies was all that was needed to accompany the sweet image of Piglet and Pooh on a Golden Glow cardbase:

I added a little extra stamped detail to the inside to complete my card:

That sentiment is so perfect for the image, don't you think? The new in-colours compliment the papers in this suite perfectly.

I have the Silly Old Bears Suite!! Now first things first: a confession. If you are one of my UK customers, this suite is unfortunately not available to purchase in the UK; Stampin' Up! only have the copyright to produce and sell this product in the USA. As a lifelong Winnie The Pooh fan, I was super disappointed to hear this. Fortunately for me though, I have generous and helpful American friends that meant my recent trip Stateside meant I could come home with my very own suite - yay! So you will be seeing me use it on my blog, as my international readers will hopefully still enjoy the inspiration.

My card showcases the Silly Old Bear papers, and for the feature panel I added a piece of Very Vanilla that I embossed with the Hundred Acre Woods embossing folder - perfect for the 'E is for Embossing' challenge over at The Alphabet Challenge Blog this week. Check out the dimension:

I also used it to emboss the envelope flap for some co-ordinated detail. A sentiment from the Sweet Words and Labels Bundle, another of the bundles in the suite, and a Pooh and Piglet diecut from another of the DSP sheet, complete my card. I LOVE this suite - and will be making lots more with it too!
