Today I'm sharing my design team card for our new challenge over at As you See It where it's time for a recipe challenge chosen by me:

I made a recipe including some of my favourite things, with no particular outcome in mind when I chose them ages ago. When it came to making my card though, I took my inspiration from one of the cards entered into our embossing folder challenge last week! Here's my card - take a look and I'll explain more below:

 Here's the low-down on today's card:

The first entrant into our gallery for our last challenge, Hilary, had made a number of cards using her favourite embossing folders and a technique that involved embossing cardstock with a vellum overlay. You can see Hilary's cards on her blog 'Fiddling About' here if you missed them, but I was so intrigued by the technique, I decided I would take the opportunity to give it a go. And since yellow and flowers were 2 of my recipe ingredients, I decided to use my Sunflowers 3D embossing folder and see what happened. I tried it a few different ways as I wasn't sure how Hilary had attached her vellum and cardstock and found the most effective result to be when I attached a sheet of vellum to my cardstock using an adhesive sheet that covered the whole surface, before putting the combined layers into the embossing folder and running through my Big Shot. By using an adhesive sheet, you get the white detail of the embossed vellum, but you can still see a vibrant yellow beneath; without the whole adhesive sheet, the yellow was more muted and the relief was much whiter because of the vellum. The close up below gives a more detailed view of the finished embossed pattern:

I paired by yellow sunflowers with a bright yellow diecut sentiment, get well soon, from Kristina Werner's Big Type 2 Greetings Dies. I cut 3 of them and stacked them together for added depth and used a retired circle framelit to cut away the corner of the embossed layer and added my greeting to the Night of Navy mat layer below in the negative space created. That accounted for both a diecut and a large, bold sentiment. All that was left still to use from my recipe were some enamel dot embellishments, so I added two glossy yellow ones from my stash to complete my card.

Today it's Sunday and time for this week's new challenge over at The Paper Players! It's the turn of the fabulous Stef to host this week and she has my favourite, a sketch challenge, for us to work with:

I was tempted to go down the designer paper route with this sketch, but in the end decided upon some stencilling and another entry over at Just Us Girls and a final farewell to all 5 of the 2024-26 In Colours for my entry to the current challenge over at Colour Inkspiration. - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

2024-26 In Colo(u)rs - Now I could have chosen my favourite of this set of in-colours for my Colour Inkspiration entry (hands down it would have been Pretty In Pink and Friday's card was most definitely my homage to that), but instead I decided to create a card using all 5 colours. This doesn't always work with all 5 in colours, and options are often limited if there is no green (as in the 2025-27 set), however this collection works quite well together. If you haven't stocked up on inks, refills and cardstock by now this is your final reminder - some such as Petunia Pop are already discontinued here in the UK and they will all be gone for good by the end of this month!

Cheerful Flowers - My Kristina Werner Cheerful Flowers stencils by Concord & 9th were just what I needed for the main panel of my card, as they allowed me to use all 5 colours across the layers. I love the bold pattern of these stencils. I used a piece of Shy Shamrock for my border but decided to try something a little different for this card. I aligned the stencil to my stamped image, then used it with my embossing mat to emboss a continuation of the pattern onto the cardstock for some added visual interest:

It's quite difficult to see on the photographs, but it looks lovely in real life and I'm really please with how it came out.

Final Touches - A stacked sentiment from the Big Type Greetings dies, also my Christina Werner and Concord & 9th, along with a trio of matte enamel dots complete my card.

Enjoy your day; I am spending the morning in Milton Keynes for this month's Aqua Paddle with the hubby and his paddlers. Despite the lovely sunny weather of the last few days, I'm still not ready to venture out onto the water yet so am once again going to be the official event photographer. At least this month the paddlers shouldn't need their bobble hats like last month! Then I'm home to a late lunch and aiming to enjoy the rest of the day's sunshine. Today I'm sharing a card another quick clean and simple card for the 'follow my leader' challenge over at AAA Cards this week:

I'm also playing along over at Colour Dare, where they are on challenge number 700 - congratulations team! 3 of those 4 colours appear in my Lovely Blossoms designer series paper so it was the obvious choice for my detailed strip - take a look:

My patterned paper is more muted than the one Jane chose for her card, but I kept with her bold border and co-ordinating sentiment (I used Secret Sea to coordinate with my paper as opposed to black) and kept with the same greeting style, but a 'hello' as opposed to  'hi' using my Kristina Werner Big Type Greetings Dies:

This is such a simple no-stamping design but one that can be adapted with lots of different paper strip designs and sentiment types - great for a quick card and to use up scraps too.

Today it's Sunday and time for this week's new challenge over at The Paper Players! It's the turn of the fabulous Ann to host this week and she has a pretty colour challenge for us to work with:

I decided Ann's colours were perfect for a first-time outing for a stencil I bought a while ago but hadn't yet had the opportunity to use and decided to have another go with Kim's layout over at Freshly Made Sketches this week, this time paying a little more attention and being more faithful to it - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

The stencil is called Cheerful Flowers by Kristina Werner and Concord and 9th and made short work of incorporating Ann's chosen colour palette. I stencilled a whole panel then trimmed it down to fit my cardfront, adding some solid colour banners and a layered diecut sentiment along with some Lost Lagoon enamel dots to finish:

I liked this card so much, I wanted to use some of my stencilled offcuts too so made a second card using the layout over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge which was just perfect to highlight a stencilled panel:

For this card I added my panel to a Lost Lagoon card base, added a banner of Calypso Coral and finished with one of my favourite Stampin' Up! Words of Beauty Dies, this time using all three layers: 

 I finished with an uplifting sentiment - perfect for the challenge over at Alphabet Challenge Blog where the current theme is 'U is for Uplifting' this week. So here's a photo of both cards together - which one do you prefer? Do let me know in the comments below - I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Enjoy your day; I am experimenting today with vegan baking; not something I do often, but I need to take a vegan bake to an event in a few weeks time, so thought I'd best have a dry run first - wish me luck! Another quick post to share my second card for this week's CASE A DT Week at Just Us Girls. 

This time I decided to CASE my dear friend Elizabeth's card - take a look at what I came up with:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

I kept with the idea of using a coverplate die with inset colour; I retained Elizabeth's colour scheme, but instead used my Sunshine & Tulips Die. Since each flower was a single colour, I used Elizabeth's rainbow of colours to create an ombre effect as the rows descended the cardfront:

A simple diecut sentiment, similar to Elizabeth's (mine is another of those Kristina Werner Big Type Greetings Dies) and a trio of gold gems complete my card.

Quite simple with no stamping required - and chock-full of colour to brighten someone's day.

Today it's Sunday and time for this week's new challenge over at The Paper Players! It's the turn of the fabulous Claire to host this week and as it's the fifth Sunday of the month, she has a fun tictactoe challenge for us to work with:

I am still in Christmas mode so went both down the first column with white/Christmas/diecuts and the diagonal white/stencilling/sparkle for my card today. My card features another of my new stencils, the Berries and Leaves stencils by Kristina Werner and Concord and 9th - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

I decided today's card would feature mistletoe, with green foliage and white berries, with a festive red background. I inked the background first, then the foliage, adding ink with my blending brushes to my white cardstock. Once I'd done this, I decided the berries didn't stand out enough, so added Heat and Stick powder with Versamark and covered them in Dazzling Diamonds glitter - a little on the messy side, but the finished result is oh so sparkly!

A simple layered diecut sentiment, from the Big Type Greetings Dies also by Kristina Werner, complete my card. As I mentioned previously, these KW Dies are HUGE so they make it easy to create two cards in one sitting - here are both my finished cards:

I absolutely love these KW stencils - so festive! I'm also linking today's card up over at Just Us Girls where they are celebrating stencil week for their last challenge of the year (all being well I am hoping to have a second card to share with them before the close later this week) and at Color Dare where they are featuring a festive red and green colour combo.

So many possibilities with this sketch! I chose to keep the basic layout and showcase one of my favourite festive designer series papers that I've been waiting for an opportunity to cut into - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

There are two patterns in the Traditions of Christmas specialty paper that I absolutely love: the gold embossed red poinsettia sheet and this pattern, combining red poinsettias with Christmas roses and foliage. The gold embossing, and unusual colour combination incorporating Secret Sea and Pool Party into the mix, make for a stunning pattern that should be showcased in all its festive glory, so the three panels of Ann's sketch were perfect. A simple base and a diecut Words For The Season sentiment in gold foil, popped up using adhesive sheet were all that I needed to really allow it to shine:

I liked this card so much I made a whole bunch of them, adding some alternative sentiments - this one was using another of my Big Type Greetings Dies by Kristina Werner:

I like this version because you can see even more of that fabulous paper! I am linking today's card up with the lovely ladies over at Just Add Ink where they are looking for stencils, dies or both on their cards this week - for me it's just dies today, but great word dies nevertheless!
