Stampin' Up UK 2020-22 In Color Club Now Open - Book Your Space!

by Joanne James30. May 2020 09:00

With a new Stampin' Up! catalogue, new in-colours always feature on a new wish list - why wouldn't they? The new 2020-22 In Colors will be with us for the next 2 years and this year's in-colours are very on-trend and co-ordinate beautifully with each other and the other colours in the Stampin' Up! colour families:

To help you spread the cost and gradually grow your new in-colour collection, I am offering an in-colour club (UK customers only). It begins this month and runs for the next 5 months, up to and including October. Each month, you will receive a collection of  products for one of the colours, with each month featuring a different colour. You will be sent a reminder on the 15th of the month, and your in-color club invoice will need to be paid by the 29th of the month in order that items can be ordered in good time.

Each month, you will receive:

  • 1/2 pack of A4 cardstock (12 sheets)
  • 1/2 roll of 1/4" (6.4mm) In Color Ribbon
  • 1 ink pad
  • 1 ink refill
  • 1 Stampin' Write Marker
  • 20 Enamel Dots
  • Eight 6”X6” In-Color DSP sheets
  • A hand stamped card featuring your in-colour of the month

Since all of the colours except Bumble Bee are also available as Stampin' Blends, there is the option to add on a Stampin' Up! Blends Marker Combo Pack each month for an additional £8.50.

For the month you receive the BumbleBee colour kit, you will receive 1/2 pack of Flowers For Every Season Memories and More Cards & Envelopes and 1/2 pack of Flowers For Every Season Memories and More Card Pack in place of the Blends. Both of these products also feature all five in-colours.

Details:

Basic Pack Cost: £24 plus postage and packaging (Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For) every month June through October. If you are local, you can avoid the cost of shipping and arrange to collect.

Enhanced Pack Cost: £32.50 plus postage and packaging (Royal Mail 2nd Class Signed For) every month June through October. If you are local, you can avoid the cost of shipping and arrange to collect.

Payment can be made by Paypal or bank transfer (or cash/cheque for local customers).

If you would like to join my new colour club this month, then you can email me to sign up here.

#ShareSunshine With We'll Walrus Be Friends For PP489

by Joanne James3. May 2020 09:00

Today it's Sunday and time for this week's new challenge over at The Paper Players! It's my turn to host this week and I have a fun theme challenge for you to work with:

I have been looking at the sentiments in the new #ShareSunshine product giveback download and decided to use one of the funny ones on my card today - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

#ShareSunshine - The #ShareSunshine PDF download is the Covid-19 Product Giveback that I shared with you here last week. It includes lots of fun sentiments related to the current social distancing and unique times we find ourselves in that are great for sharing with friends and family to let them know we are thinking of them. I chose to feature the fun 'I've Just Been Working On My Homebody' sentiment and hunted through my stamp sets to find a suitably fit individual ...

We'll Walrus Be Friends - ... and the rotund walrus in 'We'll Walrus Be Friends' was just the thing! I created a repeating background with my stamp. Is it only me that feels like this chap of late? Too much cake and not enough exercise!!

Starburst Punch - The PDF download comes with a list of the ink colours used and co-ordinating products for each of the images and the one I chose fits the Starburst Punch perfectly. I cropped mine first with a 2" circle punch and mounted it onto my Mango Melody starburst; the former is carrying over but the Starburst Punch is retiring so if this is on your wishlist, now is the time to add it to your shopping basket.

Here is the visual summary of the key products used on today's project for you to pin for easy reference:

You can see all of my Product and 'How To' summaries on my 'How To - Tips and Techniques' Pinterest board in case you've missed any.

Before you reach for your ink and papers, check out what our amazing team has created to inspire you this week:

Here's a quick recap of our challenge rules:

1.  Create a new paper project
2.  Upload your creation to your blog with a link back to us and provide a direct link to the post featuring your challenge submission.
3.  Please link your card to no more than four challenges, TOTAL.
4.  Have FUN!

You can see all of my 'How To' summaries on my 'How To - Tips and Techniques' Pinterest board in case you've missed any.

I can't wait to see what happy projects you have to share with us in the Paper Players gallery this week!

Enjoy your day; I will be spending time in the garden and trying to make Sunday feel less like any other day of the week since they all seem to roll into one at the moment! I might make up more Covid cards with my download printouts too to send out to friends and family as I have a few ideas. I'll be back tomorrow with another project. Until then, happy stampin'!

Making A Difference: Covid-19 Product Giveback Digital Download

by Joanne James28. April 2020 12:00

An extra post for you with news of a product giveback that has been announced today! Stampin’ Up! is committed to making a difference in our global communities and caring about people first. As part of the company's 'Making a Difference' programme they are offering a product giveback opportunity to support organisations that are helping COVID-19 frontline responders and communities vulnerable to the pandemic.

The Share Sunshine PDF Download is a digital stamp set that’s packed with both light-hearted and heartfelt sentiments and imagery relevant to the unique COVID-19 and social distancing situation we’re currently experiencing – including many ideas that came from Stampin' Up! demonstrators and customers! The download can be used in your cardmaking and papercrafting projects. Simply print the imagery on cardstock and cut it out using our Paper Trimmer, punches, or dies. Since we are physically distanced from each other, now is a perfect time to share sunshine with our friends and family by sending cards!

When you purchase the Share Sunshine PDF Download Stampin' Up! will donate 100% of the proceeds to COVID-19 efforts. Stampin’ Up! will donate all proceeds to the following global organizations to help vulnerable communities and frontline responders:

The World Health Organization’s COVID-Solidarity Response Fund

This fund supports the Strategic Preparedness and Response Plan, which includes:

  • Tracking and understanding the spread of the virus.
  • Ensuring patients get the care they need.
  • Buying and shipping essential protective gear for frontline workers.
  • Generating awareness for the general public on ways to prevent the spread of the disease.
  • Accelerating efforts to develop vaccines, tests and treatments.

Learn more about WHO here.

United Way Worldwide’s COVID-19 Community Response and Recovery Fund

This fund supports communities across the world struggling to cope with COVID-19. United Way is working to protect the most vulnerable by helping them access food, shelter, vital information, and more through United Way’s global network.

Learn more about United Way here.

Would you like your own copy of the Share Sunshine PDF Download? Buy it here! The price is $12.00 USD - the download will be charged in US dollars; your financial institution will convert the charge into your currency based on current exchange rates.

Remember these charities are the sole beneficiaries of each purchase—that means every cent/penny paid for the download goes to these organisations! As such, if you purchase the download we would please ask that you don't share it with others, as this takes away from the organisations we are trying to support. Instead, suggest friends and family download their own PDF too - that way, even more money can be raised.

Here are just some of the lovely samples the team at Stampin' Up! created using this PDF and pairing it with other Stampin' Up! products:

So why not download the PDF with no need to wait for shipping and start creating right away! Buying this set is a great way to #MakeADifference and #ShareSunshine - if you use it in your makes be sure to share your creations over on my Facebook page - I would love to see them!

The 2019-20 Retiring Lists Explained

by Joanne James23. April 2020 12:00

Following the announcement of the 2019-20 Annual Catalogue and 2020 Spring-Summer catalogue retiring lists, I just thought I would pop by with a quick post to highlight some of the key points of note and some of the things that I will miss the most. The lists are so long (and tiny!) that it can be easy to miss some key points. So here goes:

  • Stampin' Blends are NOT RETIRING! They will still be available in teh new catalogue (and with more colours too!) but they will be unavailable as singles, only as a Light & Dark Combo pack. They are on the retiring list because of this and the new combo packs will have a different number to the one they have currently.
  • Some of the bundles are retiring but only as a BUNDLED ITEM. Each item will still be available individually, but no longer at the 10% bundled price. This primarily impacts Annual catalogue bundles; for the first time, a number of the seasonal catalogue bundles are carrying forward into the new catalogue as a bundle, retaining their discount.
  • Some dies are NOT RETIRING! The old packaging and product numbers are retiring. Due to a change in supplier/manufacturer, these dies will still be available but will have new product numbers.

There are a number of items on the retiring lists that are key items/tools in a crafter's arsenal or that you may be surprised to see depart that I want to make sure you are aware of that are leaving that might get lost amongst the stamp sets, and they are:

  • Embossing Buddy
  • Circle punches - various
  • Glimmer paper
  • Copper embossing powder
  • Stamparatus metric plates pack
  • 12"x12" Memories and more album and page protectors

There are also some amazing bargains, especially on kits: one of my favourites is the 'Notes of Kindness' card kit that at 60% off is just £13.20 - bargain!!

Retiring products are only available WHILE STOCKS LAST, so if you've still items on your wish list from this year's annual or spring-summer seasonal catalogues, you need to check the retiring lists and if they're on it put an order in pronto! Don't forget to add this month's online hostess code: WG4Q4WQV

Hop online to get the latest on stock availability and place your orders. Some retiring items are discounted by up to 60% so these may well be snapped up quickly.

I will be back tomorrow with a creative post; until then, happy shopping!

Little Ladybugs Times Two

by Joanne James10. February 2020 16:53

I have a super quick post today as I have had a Valentine's home decor class today and have a school music recital to attend this evening, so I need to quickly squeeze in a couple of cards I made over the weekend using the gorgeous 'Little Ladybug' stamp set that is a free gift for anyone hosting a Stampin' Up! party with qualifying party sales. The first is for the current challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches:

Some simple stamping and Blends colouring with a sponged background and split sentiment, highlighting the word FLY:

The second is for the current challenge over at Less Is More where the challenge is 'tiny and few':

This seemed perfect for that itty-bitty row of ladybirds with a fun sentiment:

Here is the visual summary of the key products used on today's project for you to pin for easy reference:

And for the super clean and simple card:

You can see all of my 'How To' summaries on my 'How To - Tips and Techniques' Pinterest board in case you've missed any.

The Power of Hope For PP477

by Joanne James9. February 2020 10:00

Today it's Sunday and time for this week's new challenge over at The Paper Players! It's the turn of the fabulous Ann to host this week and she has a fun colour challenge for you to work with:

Ann's colours this week are perfect for Valentine's however armed with the 'blank slate' over at InspireCreate this week I decided to use a little of something old with a little of something new to create my card today - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

Power of Hope - So first to my something new! The pagoda and sentiment on today's card are from one of the free Sale-A-Bration stamp sets, called 'Power of Hope'. This set has some lovely oriental images, including a chinese lantern and geisha girl. I used the pagoda and one of the uplifting sentiments in the set.

Embossed Stone - The Power of Hope stamp set is combined with the Stone 3D embossing folder as one of the bundles of items that you can receive free with a £90 (as opposed to £45) Sale-A-Bration purchase. I used it emboss my card base and create a textured frame for my stamped area although I think it will prove useful on other projects too.

Seasonal Layers - For my 'something old', I used my perennial favourite, the Seasonal Layers Thinlits to add a diecut cherry blossom branch to the front of my card. I added colour to the centres of the flowers using my Stampin' Blends markers and the co-ordinating Colourful Seasons stamp set, which I also used to add a touch of decoration to the inside of my card:

Whilst I haven't used them for a while, this stamp set and dies are one of the most used bundles in my collection. They really are so useful on so many projects, whatever the season. As for the Japan-influenced Power of Hope bundle, whilst I wouldn't ordinarily choose this style of stamp set, it's different to anything else I own and will I'm sure have its uses. Bottom line is it was free, so I'm most certainly not complaining!

Enjoy your day; one of the James Juniors is off to a paintballing party today (rather him than me!). The rest of us will be battoning down the hatches and staying indoors away from the stormy winds that are expected in the UK today. I'll be back tomorrow with another project (or two!). Until then, happy stampin'!
