It's the week before Easter already and so today I'm sharing a couple of really simple 3D projects that I made with a group of wonderful ladies last month that are perfect for holding Easter treats and also fit with the challenge over at Global Design Project this week:

The first one is an super easy Easter basket made with one of my most favourite tools EVER, the Envelope Punch Board  - take a look:

I love the Envelope Punch Board - my Envelope Expert and Box Buster tools are testament to that! - but it's great for lots more fun projects besides. Here I made my basket out of one of the Delightful Daisy DSP papers, decorated with some stamped and punched daisies and some faceted gems - a rather grown-up Easter basket, if you will, given the absence of bunnies! These little baskets are so easy to make and will hold a small full size egg or a collection of smaller ones. Here are the instructions in case you would like to make one too: 

• Take a sheet of paper measuring 6” x 6”
• Punch and score using your Envelope Punch Board at 1 ½” on all four sides
• Turn over the sheet and repeat the step above on the reverse
• Cut the flaps on each side to the first score line
• Fold flaps either inside or outside to create your side panel and decorate with daisies or your chosen embellishment
• Trim centre ends if desired (as I've done here) or adhere to the outside of the basket
• Cut handle 15cm x 1.5cm and attach to sides

We also made some of the smaller egg carrier baskets, again using a piece of 6" x 6" paper and the Envelope Punch Board, this time using some of the Petal Garden DSP and some of the lovely free Sale-A-Bration Calypso Coral Shimmer Ribbon (only 4 more days to get your hands on this!) and a sweet Easter tag:

Instructions for this basket are as follows:

• Take a sheet of paper measuring 6” x 6”
• Punch and score using your Envelope Punch Board at 1¾” and 4” on the first side then use the score lines and guide to punch and score the remaining sides
• Use a 3/4" circle punch to create the handles on the inner pieces and bring these up on the inside, adhering your flaps on the outside of these 

I'm mindful the instructions are not the easiest to follow without a video - watch this space and I'll see if I can make a quick one later!

Happy Monday everyone! Yes it's a late post following a busy day as always, but as promised I have another card using yesterday's sketch over at The Paper Players that is also perfect for this week's TGIF Challenge:

I loved this sketch and in addition to yesterday's party-themed cards (you can see those here if you missed them) also used it to make a fun masculine card - I didn't post it yesterday as my PP teamie, the lovely Jan Clothier, had the same idea and used the same set, so I saved mine until today. It also demonstrates one of my favourite ways to use my Stampin' Write markers - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

True Gentleman - Classic patterns and elongated hexagons make the True Gentleman Suite tasteful, tailored and irresistible; this is how the catalogue describes this suite and whilst this isn't a set that sits at the top of my list, I do love the DSP patterns and colours (surprise, surprise!) and the clean, block style of the fonts in the Truly Tailored stamp set. And whilst I haven't used it here, the Tailored Tag Punch is a lovely modern, angular label that can be used with many other sets too. There are traditional masculine browns in this suite, but I chose to feature the brighter blues and greens on my card today, picking out the Crushed Curry yellow from the plaid background pattern with my baker's twine bow for an additional pop of colour.

Direct To Stamp - I used my Stampin' Write markers in one of my favourite ways on today's card; by colouring the sentiment directly with my markers, I was able to use both Tranquil Tide and Night of Navy on one stamp. I was also able to highlight certain areas of the stamp in order to alter the layout: if you compare my stamped image to that of the original stamp in the table below, you will see I omitted the moustache altogether and split the top line of the sentiment and stamped it on the upper portion of my circle, with the remainder on the bottom leaving a space in between.

Build A Bowtie - I decided to put that space between my custom-coloured sentiment to good use and add a bowtie - not a stamped one though, rather one punched with the Bow Builder Punch - dapper indeed! I finished the centre of my bow with a little of the textured corduroy ribbon that I used to edge my panel too as a fun finishing touch.

I also used two different colour markers on one stamp on the inside of my card too - although can't seem to find the photo of that, so will have to retake and add it to my post later.

It's Sunday and time for this week's new challenge over at The Paper Players! It's the turn of my amazing friend Claire to host this week and she has my favourite, a sketch challenge, for you to work with:

I could have gone so many ways with this sketch! I have not one, but two cards, to share with you today - both with a fun party theme. Here's the first one - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

Picture Perfect Party - Both of my cards today feature papers with the bold, photographic images featured in the Picture Perfect Party DSP Stack. In bright, celebratory colours, these papers are perfect for a large expanse of background and work really well as the background for my fun, party-themed cards. I used the offcut from my card panel to continue the decoration through to my envelope to with a colourful envelope liner.

Picture Perfect Birthday - I used the co-ordinating Picture Perfect Birthday stamp set to decorate the sentiment circles on the front of my card. I was lucky to receive this set free when I attended Onstage last November, which really was fortunate for me as I think this is a set I might otherwise have overlooked. It contains some great, scripted fonts that work for birthdays and more general celebrations and has some fun confetti, candle, tooter and ribbon bow images too. In addition to using it to decorate the outside of my card, I added a little colour to the inside too:

Finishing Touches - To finish my cards, I added some gold tinsel trim and a strip of fringed cardstock to the one above and some silver baker's twine and mini silver sequin trim with a strip of fringed cardstock to the card below:

Two cards using the same layout and supplies, each with a different pattern and sentiment. The Picture Perfect Party Suite is perfect for creating batches of birthday cards with a minimum of supplies. I decided to take Nance's challenge literally and have a clean-and-simple rainbow card to share with you this week - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

Build A Rainbow The Easy Way - Today's card features a fun rainbow made using the Rainbow Builder Framelits Dies - these really do make building a rainbow super quick and easy. I ran all 7 pieces through the Big Shot at the same time and held them together with some washi tape across the back.

Myths and Magic - I don't usually use designer paper on a clean and simple card, but I couldn't resist a background of clouds and sky courtesy of this fun pattern fro the Myths and Magic Specialty DSP Pack. It makes the perfect backdrop for my bright rainbow and layered clouds.

Sunshine and Rainbows -  My card is mostly made up of diecuts and has very little stamping - just the sunshine and the sentiment. I decided to continue the rainbow theme into my sentiment stamp and coloured it with the colours of my rainbow using sponge daubers for a fun variegated effect.

Whilst my card is a little more layered than I usually go with for clean and simple, this card is really straightforward and super quick to put together and I love the pop of bright colour that the rainbow gives. Another Monday, another week! Today I'm sharing a cute packaging option that is perfect as a wedding favour or thank you gift and takes minutes to put together - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's project:

Gifts And Goodies - Have you spotted these lovely silver mini gable boxes on page 13 of the current seasonal catalogue? I'm all for making my own boxes, but sometimes you just need the speed and convenience of something off-the-shelf - and the silver gable box is the answer. Whether used as they are, or dry embossed (perhaps with the new Petal Pair embossing folders) or decorated with some designer series paper to dress them up a little, these sturdy little boxes are easy to turn from their flat-packed state into something robust enough to carry a small gift: perhaps some truffles, nail polish, or a few reinkers or embellishment sets ... and lots more besides! You can even turn them inside out so that you have a white outer that can then also be coloured as you choose.

Sweet Soiree - I've added a wrap with a piece of Sweet Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper to my container. These gorgeous silver foiled designs give the hand-painted appearance of these papers a textured look all of their own and co-ordinate perfectly with the silver box - minimum effort, maximum impact!

Finishing Touches - I've added some Berry Burst metallic-edge ribbon and a small circle-punched tag, stamped with the Cake Soiree stamp set, to my box as a finishing touch. So pretty, I almost don't want to give it away!

Firstly, an apology to my regular readers for my lack of blog posts this week; I was well and truly wiped out following the craft retreat I hosted last weekend! I had a fabulous time, but following my class at the start of this week I needed to take a few days out to catch up on some family things and get my office straight in order to start again.

Now since it's Mothering Sunday here in the UK today, you might think I would have a Mother's Day card to share with you, or maybe something floral - but no, instead I have a rather girly birthday card to share with you this week, with a fun surprise element too - take a look:

Pretty In Pink - I chose to feature a combination of Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo on my card today - who wouldn't love a pink house with a pink front door, right?! Using the stamps and framelits in the At Home With You bundle featured in the annual catalogue, I also added a pretty spring floral wreath and two flower pots, all coloured with my Stampin' Write markers to complete my doorstep scene.

A Birthday Surprise - The At Home Framelits Dies include a framelit that cuts and scores a hinged door, that allows for a fun feature and a hidden birthday surprise - take a look:

A birthday message and a gift too!

Textured Brick Wall - I continued the house theme by adding some textured bricks around the door using embossing paste and a stencil - I think it gives my card something of a cottage feel. I continued my stamping inside my card and onto my envelope for a finishing touch.

My card was totally inspired by the lovely inspiration photo Nance chose for Jaydee's challenge badge this week: those red tulips are just lovely so I had to feature some on my card today. We have been experiencing sub-zero temperatures here in the UK for the past week, along with significant snowfall and I for one am ready for Spring, even if only with my card today - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

Get Tranquil Tulips For Free - Tranquil Tulips is one of the hostess sets in the annual catalogue, that is available exclusive to those that host a Stampin’ Up! party or place a personal order of £150 or more. A gorgeous set with blooms that can be stamped directly or fussy cut and layered as I’ve done here. A Tutti Frutti Pattern - I paired my red tulips with some blue grape hyacinths and that inspired the colour scheme for the rest of my card. The background paper is from the Tutti Frutti paper stack - lots of bold fruit patterns here, but if these are not your thing there are some great patterns such as the one I’ve used today on the reverse of each sheet too.

A Spring Banner - I took the wording for my banner from the current ‘Hello Easter’ set and paired it with the banner from the Bunch of Banners set to fit my theme. Some navy crinkle seam binging ribbon finishes my card.

Today I'm sharing a 3D project with you that is the ultimate showcase of the Sale-A-Bration Bubbles & Fizz papers, so is perfect for this week's Global Design Project challenge:

Why is it the ultimate DSP showcase? Well there's not a single bit of stamping on today's project - take a look:

A multi-coloured and fully functional working clock - how fun is that?! Here's the low-down on today's project:

No Stamping Required - This is another of the projects that I showcased at Onstage back in November and is a real favourite of mine. You know how much I love those Bubbles and Fizz papers and this project showcases 3 of the designs (4 if you count the decorated pizza box I used to gift wrap it!): the multi-coloured bubble background, the bottle tops indicating where the numbers are and the bottles that form the clock hands. All three papers work really well together and leave no need for any stamping on this project.  

Bottles and Tops - Well, Bottles and Bubbles actually - well framelits that is, that fit the Bottles and Fizz paper perfectly. On each of these sheet designs every bottle and top can be cut out perfectly with the co-ordinating framelits, so there is no wastage. 

A Touch of Gloss - I added a layer of fine tip glue to my bottles and tops before attaching the to my clock face, to give a layer of shine and protection. That's all there is to it!

This project uses a simple clock kit that you can buy at any craft store and is great if you have customers who like home decor projects but are not big stampers (I have a group of those!) The clock is also fun - great for decorating the bedroom of a discerning teenager or maybe a student away from home. It really doesn't use much in the way of supplies and whilst you only need the framelits for this project, you are definitely going to want to buy the bundle to benefit from the stampset too and explore further creative opportunities.

Having a busy few days putting the final touches to my craft retreat this weekend, so a quick post from me to share a card that is perfect for the challenge over at Just Add Ink this week:

For my 'h' I had to go with 'h for happy' as in the 'Happy Wishes' Sale-A-Bration set - take a look:

Here's the low-down on today's card:

Happy Birthday Wishes - The 'Happy Wishes' stamp set is one of three items available with a £90 purchase during the current Sale-A-Bration promotion - a great sentiment set with so many possibilities. Two large floral words and 14 additional stamps with words and phrases that can be combined to create a wide variety of sentiments. Useful and pretty too!

Easy Ombre - I made a version of this card in my recent Sale-A-Bration class and wanted to teach those present how to create an easy ombre effect by inking a stamp in a single, light colour (here I inked my 'happy' in Powder Pink) and then add ink in a complimentary darker colour, such as Berry Burst, with my sponger dauber to the lower portion of the stamp. A fun technique that is easy to achieve - always a winner. Once stamped, I added a little more Powder Pink to the florals on the stamped image with my blender pen for a little added detail. 

Love The In-Colours - My card features a little Powder Pink but is otherwise all about the Berry Burst - ink, some in-colour patterned designer series paper and a bow in that lovely, soft Berry Burst crinkle ribbon. In case you couldn't tell, I just love this in-colour - I think it might be my current favourite!
